Timber Cladding
About This Service
Expert Timber Cladding from W&O Joinery
Using premium-grade Accoya, Siberian larch and tanalised softwood, with stainless steel A4 fixings and concealed clip systems, W&O Joinery install timber cladding to current British Standards and NHBC recommendations. Our joiners set ventilated battens, fit vapour-permeable membranes and ensure correct cavity ventilation. We finish with oils, opaque stains or factory-prepared systems for lasting protection.

Our Process
How It Works
Site survey and specification
A measured survey identifies substrate type, ventilation needs and any repairs. We specify timber species, fixings and treatments to suit the property and exposure.
Preparation and treatment
We prepare the substrate, install treated battens and a vapour-permeable membrane, and treat or pre-finish boards where required to protect against moisture and UV.
Installation and finish
Boards are fixed with stainless fixings or concealed clip systems, checked for drainage and ventilation, and finished with oil or opaque coatings to the agreed look.

Practical timber cladding for Barnsley properties, installed to perform in our climate. We assess exposure, wall type and existing detailing so the cladding sits correctly on brick, stone or timber frame. Our standard approach uses ventilated battens and a vapour-permeable membrane to prevent trapped moisture and allow timber movement.
Finishes and maintenance: choose a natural oil, semi-transparent stain or opaque factory finish depending on the look and level of protection you want. We also offer pre-finished boards and advice on routine care. Typical maintenance is simple re-oiling or touch-up stains, not full replacement, when correctly specified and installed.
